Dear Knitters,
I have exciting news. I’m back to my knitting self. I lost my mojo during my last pregnancy and it hasn’t come back until now. I love wool. I love yarn. I love my needles. For reasons unknown the desire was just not there.
Why the recent change? The Pacific Northwest Fall weather makes me want to curl up under a blanket with a warm drink and knit.
Another obvious reason is my baby’s first year is almost finished. I can’t belive she’s not a baby anymore. It’s bittersweet, and yes, a huge sigh of relief. Bring on toddlerhood!
So with that, I want to share what I’m working on today. I have the hat bug (a nice starting point). I have 2 hats on the needles. One will be a robot costume topper for my son, and the other is a cabled earflap hat for my friends son.
Rainy day knitting and a cup of Pumpkin Spice Coffee!
What’s on your needles?

Congratulation on getting your knitting mojo back. I’m happy for you.
I lost my love for knitting… temporary, I hope. For the past seven years, I’ve been knitting non-stop with joy and love. But, recently, I had the flu (second time in my life… first at 18 years of age… I’m now 74), and my vim, vigor and concentration is wanting. I began to knit again, four days ago, because I have to; I have yarn for a toddler’s hoody car coat and have had to restart it because she’s grown since my illness. LOL. At least I can laugh about it. I just hope I finish it before winter is over. I also have two pairs of socks on needles and also a lovely scarf with a honeycomb cable design.
It’s good that you took time to be with your baby during the very important first year. Actually, time with our children is always important, but a good strong foundation is worth it’s weight in gold.
Welcome back to knitting!
I agree – bring on those toddler years! They can be a challenge and while I love the baby cuddles and the learning and all that, I’m REALLY looking forward to more independence.
I bet E is just the cutest little girl ever!
I’m glad you’re knitting again. I love your hats and can’t wait to see how the robot turns out!
