Pugs In Paris

My swap package finally arrived!  Now my first swap is done done done!

I have to admit, I was very nervous about recieving my package.  Some of the packages other people recieved were, well, shall we say not something I would like myself?  That’s not meant to be rude, but most swappers take it seriously.  That means “stalking” on Ravelry and getting to know the person you’re sending to so that each gift is personal and meaningful.  Then there are others and I don’t even know why they participate, but they sort of bring the swap down by doing a mediocre job.

That being said, my package was over the top outstanding!  Maybe I’m partcial, but I think I recieved the best of the Springtime in Paris packages.  Eliana (Iknitcupcakes) was so generous.  She themed it “Pugs In Paris” because, well, she knows how much I love pugs!  Everything was perfectly matched in a brown, blue and white color scheme and had pugs on everyting!  Most of the gifts came in a gift box that was themed after the French version of “Treasure Island” book.

Here is what was in the package:

– The Frenchie Hat and Booties

-2 skeins of yarn; 1 Malabrigo Merino Worsted (my absolute favorite [see, research!]) and a beautiful colorway of Lily and Cream cotton

-6 stitch markers she made, 1 is the Eiffel Tower and a beautiful little notions bag to hold them.

-A sweet book for Dylan

-A photo album with the pug theme on the cover

-A picture of a pug puppy in an adorable little hat

– A pack of cheese spreaders with French Chefs on the handles and a matching refridgerator magnet that says, “Go Green” (again, well done with the research!)

-A box of Chewy Dipps granola bars and coffe flavored candy

-BEST of all was the most perfect little pug!  It was the Pug with Anorak by Barbara Prime, the pattern that I put in my queue probably the day I joined Ravelry.  This little toy is so cute.  I call him my third pug, lol!  I just love him so much.

Eliana, if you’re reading this I want you to know how much I appreciate the work and and attention to detail you went to for me.  I mean it when I say it was the best package of all of them.  You did a wonderful job and I consider my self so lucky that you had me!  Thank you so much for making my first swap experience so much fun, special, and absolutely unforgettable!  I look forward to future swaps with you!

    Hi Janelle,

I’m a huge fan of yours. I read your blog all the time 🙂
I had SOOOOOO much fun stalking you. This was the first “themed” swap I’ve had the pleasure of doing. I usually have difficulty trying to match everything, but as soon as I found out you like pugs, I thought “hmmm, maybe I can add something she’d absolutely love”, since everyone assumes they’ll be receiving only “Paris” themed items, I thought it would be a nice surprise.
Then the color theme went from there.

I really appreciate your kind words, and I’m so enthused that I made your first swap special and unforgettable 🙂
